Vertical Wood Pellet Machine Working Principle

When the machine starts to work, rollers move and the ring die remains stationary. The mixed materials fall down directly from the feeding inlet. Under the effect of centrifugal force, the materials are evenly distributed on the internal wall of ring die. Then materials are pressed into the ring die holes by rotating rollers, then formed into cylindrical extrusions under the high temperature and high pressure, which are cut into required length by knives and discharged from the outlet. There are three advantages to the vertical die wood pellet mill. One is that the rotating roller has much longer service life than the traditional design–about 2000 hours. Furthermore wood pellets produced by the rotating roller design are much longer, of up to 3 centimeters or more. Last but not least, roller-driven design ensures more powerful compression on the materials, so it can process hardwood materials into biomass pellets more easily than other die-driven wood pellet mills.

Attention: the smaller the pellet, the greater the cost of production, that is because the diameter of holes decide the diameter of pellets, the smaller the die holes the greater effort is required to compress materials into holes, so the greater power is needed.

Generally, there are two types of flat die pellet mills in the market, the rotating die type and the rotating roller type. Crushing process—–crusher/hammer mill

If the raw material is big logs with diameter less 300mm or big timber cutter, our BX-Series Chipping and Crushing Machine is your best choices; while tear-circle crusher/Hammer Mill is widely used to crush each kind of straw, wood chip, tree branch, bark and leftover bits from agricultural wastes. The best moisture content in the Crushing Process is less 18%, and the thickness of the wood chip is less 5mm. The moving full-wide operation door facilitates maintenance and replacement. It is widely used in various feed mills, oil plants, alcohol plants, citric acid plants, etc.

Drying priocess—–Rotary Dryers

The best moisture content to pelletizing is about 14-16%. Our new Air-Current Rotary Dryer is made up of Burning Stove and Main Rotary Dryer, which can realize to reduce the moisture from 50% to 10%, and save about 30% energy consumption comparing the old Rotary Dryer. Our burning stove is fueled by coal and wood material, which can save electricity consumption largely. If the users want to use the other fuel such as gas and electricity, one Burner is necessary, but the extra cost will be charged.

Pelletizing Process—–Ring die pellet mill

(1). The lubrication system for wood pellet mill adopts the tracing and inspecting system controlled by the microcomputer. When the temperature of the bearing is over the normal temperature, the microcomputer will start the round closed Auto-Lubrication System to lubricate the bearings, which complete solved the trouble of lubricating roller depending on the operation experience. (2). Driving Gear adopts the high precision gear transmission structure. The wear bearing is made from China Biggest Bearing Manufacturer according to our special requests. The ring die adopts the hoop fastening method, which increased the speed of discharge (3). As to the ring die and roller of the pellet mill, we have the fine machining with the alloy steel, such as 40Cr and stainless steel, such as 4 Cr13 . And our heating treatment is also different from the other domestic manufacturer, our lithium grease treatment improves the anti-abrasion of the ring die and roller more than 10 times, it can save the production cost greatly.

Cooling and screening process—–Pellet coolers

The temperature of the pellet is about 70 degree, and the moisture content of the wood pellet is about 15%, so we need use Cooler to reduce about 3-4% moisture, in this way, the pellet is easy to store and transport.
